The zombies
Health shown is the base; it grows every wave (and again on hard and at night).
| Zombie | Health | Attack | From | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Walker | 40 | Melee | Wave 1 | The common zombie. Weak alone, deadly in a crowd. Sprints at night. |
| Axe zombie | 90 | Thrown axe, then melee | Wave 3 | Throws its axe from range, then closes in. Its blows shove you back. |
| Spitter | 60 | Acid from range | Wave 4 | Hangs back and lobs acid. Kill it before it finds a window. |
| Brute | 380 | Melee | Wave 4–6 | Huge health; smashes walls fast and knocks you flying. |
| Boss | 3000 | Melee | Wave 5 | Walks in every fifth wave with thousands of health. More of them deeper in. |
Night waves bring more of the specials, and in Only night mode they turn up from the very first wave.
Kill order
- Spitters and axe zombies first. They hurt you from range, even from behind your own walls.
- Brutes next, before they reach your boards: they smash a wall in a few blows.
- Then the walkers. Easy one at a time; just never let them surround you.
Beating a boss
- Bring pierce. The magnum and the machine gun punch through the escort to the boss; see the weapon rankings.
- Stagger it. Each magnum round cancels its blow mid-swing; a flashbang dazes it for a couple of seconds.
- Keep moving. It’s slow but hits for a lot and knocks you flying. Kite it in circles while teammates shoot.
- Grenades. Save them for the boss wave, when the escort bunches up around it.
Questions
How often do bosses come?
Every fifth wave in Survival. From wave twenty on, two or more come at once, and a team of four or more always faces an extra one from wave ten.
Which zombies attack from range?
Axe zombies throw their axe, then close in; spitters hang back and lob acid.
Do zombies get stronger?
Yes. Health, speed and damage grow every wave, more again on hard and on night waves.
